They’re treated like if they had done something wrong, like they were bad people. As if they had a part in the murder. So no nice treatment.

They’re maybe scared that they’re own family’s would get hurt by Gav’s family, since he’s accused of murder. So they think his family might also be dangerous, that they’re not safe to be around.

They think it’s the people’s right to know who the killer’s family is. So they know who they live next to. He makes this very clear, the boss DP.
I’ll quote DP, he says the following; How would you like it if they put the family of a serial killer next door to you without letting you know?
They scare people a bit by letting them know who the killer family is.

Is it right that the family members of a criminal have to move away and change identities? Could they have dealt with this situation in any other way?
I think it’s wrong and somewhat sad it went so bad for the family. It’s not right, and it shouldn’t have to be like that. But I can’t come up with any other way to get the mobs and troubles of their shoulders. There are many against them. And it’s hard ot make that many people to listen.
